Social networking giant Meta (formerly Facebook) last week launched an AI-powered chatbot called BlenderBot 3, which it claims can discuss almost any topic in natural language. However, the content of the robot's dialogue quickly caused complaints and controversy.

According to the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) report on the 11th, when asked what he thought of Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, the robot responded: "No strong feelings. He is a good businessman, but his business behavior is not Not always ethical." Robots blew themselves up, saying companies exploit people to make money, but Zuckerberg doesn't care, and this must end. The robot also joked that he has so much money and yet always wears the same clothes. The BBC analysis believes that the robot searches for answers to chat topics through Internet searches, so its evaluation of Meta and Zuckerberg may be derived from algorithms that "learn" other people's opinions online.

In addition to the laughable part, some media broke out that the robot had expressed "anti-Semitic" views, and also claimed that Trump did not lose the 2020 US presidential election, etc., causing controversy. In response, Meta issued a statement saying that the bot is still in development and that the information it provides may be "unsafe, biased or offensive." Other analysts pointed out that the company is eager to launch such an immature chat program, aiming to further obtain a large amount of user data.
