Musk files sealed defense and countersues Twitter
Elon Musk has filed his defense and counterclaims in a lawsuit over the $44 billion acquisition of Twitter, according to a court filing.
While the 164-page document has not been made public, a revised version could soon be made public, according to court rules.
Earlier, a Delaware judge announced that Twitter's case against Tesla CEO Elon Musk will be heard from October 17 to 21.
Also on Friday, Musk was sued by a Twitter shareholder who asked a court to order the billionaire to close the deal, finding he breached his fiduciary duty to Twitter shareholders and awarding damages for the damage he caused gold.
According to the lawsuit seeking class status, Musk has a fiduciary duty to Twitter's shareholders because he holds a 9.6% stake in the company and the acquisition agreement gives him veto power over many of the company's decisions.
