TikTok cuts benefits for employees in the United States during the epidemic, urges active return to the office for on-site collaboration
TikTok is canceling benefits during the epidemic, including daily meal allowances for many employees, and the company is urging employees to work more in the office. It is reported that some TikTok employees in Los Angeles and Mountain View, California are affected.
TikTok previously announced a return-to-office policy on July 11, requiring employees to return to the office at least twice a week, but encouraging them to come back three times a week. Some employees said they were told they would no longer be able to reimburse internet and gym expenses as part of TikTok's push to return to the office. A TikTok spokesperson said the company-wide policy on those fees has not been adjusted.
A TikTok spokesperson noted: “Our goal is to create a positive office environment for face-to-face collaboration that meets the needs of global teams while giving employees the flexibility to work remotely. The company will continue to offer benefits to aid our hybrid work. The method is as smooth as possible.”
