Apple's latest smartphone iPhone 14, the starting retail price is as high as 799 US dollars. However, the auction price of Apple's first-generation phone is currently well above the $799 price.

Recently, an auction company is preparing to auction a first-generation iPhone that went on sale in 2007, and the auction house predicts it will fetch at least $30,000.

The storage space of this phone is only 8GB, and it is still the same as when it was first bought, and it has not been opened yet. When it first went on sale, the phone retailed for $599, which would be more than 50 times the original purchase price if it fetched $30,000 at auction.

  The first-generation iPhone had a tiny 3.5-inch screen, a 2-megapixel camera, and a built-in web browser software.

15 years ago, Apple co-founder Steve Jobs unveiled the iPhone at an iconic event. At the time, Jobs said, this rather industry-innovative mobile phone was the first to achieve "three devices in one", namely an iPod music player, a traditional mobile phone, and an Internet surfing device.

The starting price of the iPhone in this auction is set at $2,500, and 16 people have already participated in the auction. As of this writing, the highest bid has risen to $10,446. There is still some time before this auction ends.
