Google announced today that it will appeal the $4.1 billion Android antitrust fine made by the General Court, the second highest court in Europe.

A Google spokesman said today: "We are preparing to file an appeal to the highest court in Europe, the Court of Justice of the European Union. According to regulations, the deadline for filing a lawsuit is December 1 this year."

The case originated in July 2018, when the European Commission announced at the time that it had imposed an antitrust fine of 4.34 billion euros (about $5.15 billion at the time) on Google. The reason is that Google, with its dominance of the Internet search market, has imposed some illegal restrictions on Android device makers and mobile operators.

Google subsequently appealed the EU ruling. In September this year, the second highest court in Europe, the General Court of the European Union, ruled that Google had abused its dominant market position in the mobile search market, but reduced the fine to 4.125 billion euros (about 4.126 billion euros) from the previous 4.34 billion euros. One hundred million U.S. dollars).

Today, Google decided to appeal again to the European Supreme Court. It is reported that Google can only appeal to the "European Court of Justice" on legal issues.
