local time Thursday, according to the documents submitted to the Delaware court, the world's richest man Elon Musk (Elon Musk), who has abandoned the acquisition of Twitter, is advertising. Tech companies are demanding documents for more information on Twitter bots and spam accounts.

Musk has previously accused Twitter of concealing how the percentage of bot accounts was calculated, and used that as a reason to walk away from a $44 billion acquisition of Twitter. Twitter has filed a lawsuit against the Tesla CEO. The case is scheduled to go to trial on October 17.

Musk's lawyers have issued subpoenas to Integral Ad Science (IAS) and DoubleVerify for documents and communications related to their conduct of Twitter account assessments or user audits.

IAS and DoubleVerify, both based in New York, use technology to independently verify that users viewing digital ads are real people. Advertisers use this technology to ensure that their paid ads are viewed by potential users, rather than being scammed by fully automated bots.

Twitter, IAS and DoubleVerify declined to comment.

In response to a tweet about how Twitter audits its own services, Musk said: "Twitter has been going to great lengths to sidestep this issue..."

Musk claimed in his countersuit earlier this month that Twitter had 65 million fewer commercial daily active users than the company advertised. Twitter has said it stands by the previously disclosed information.

Twitter's official documents show that the metric measures the number of users who log into Twitter through a website or app to place ads or use them for paid products such as subscriptions.
