according to TESLARATI reported yesterday, in order to further increase production, Tesla's German factory will implement a two-shift system in August.

Currently, Tesla's German factory employs more than 5,000 people. In order to ensure that the factory can run two shifts smoothly, the factory plans to hire more workers to operate related equipment in August. According to RBB, Tesla's German factory will eventually use three shifts, allowing the factory to operate 24 hours a day .

Currently, Tesla plans to have the factory produce 3,000 cars a week by October 2022. Meanwhile, Tesla's goal is to have the German factory capable of producing 5,000 vehicles per week by the end of this year , Drew Baglin, Tesla's senior vice president of powertrain and energy engineering, said on an earnings call .

Tesla's chief financial officer, Zachary Kirkhorn, said that despite losing more production in the third quarter than expected, Tesla is still on track to reach 50% capacity growth this year. While this goal has become more difficult, it is still possible with strong execution.

Tesla's German plant had previously stopped production for two weeks in order to adjust some casting machines that make parts for the rear chassis of the car, as well as to install new machines. Currently, the plant has been able to produce 1,000 cars per week.

We learned that Tesla's Shanghai Gigafactory also completed a capacity upgrade in July. After the upgrade, the factory has an annual production capacity of more than 750,000 vehicles, making it Tesla's current super factory with the highest production capacity.
