  according to reports, in order to adapt to the new normal of remote work, the US online car-hailing company Lyft plans to reduce the size of its main US office space.

  Lyft will sublease some of the company’s offices in San Francisco, New York, Seattle and Nashville, people familiar with the matter said. The company has about 615,000 square feet (57,000 square meters) of office space in these locations, and they plan to sublease about 44 percent of that to other businesses.

  This follows Lyft's decision in March to introduce a permanent "total flexibility" policy, allowing employees to choose where they work and live.

  "While we still believe in-person connection is important, many of our team members are opting to work remotely after we moved to a flexible work strategy," a company spokesperson said in a statement.
