Nintendo said on February 16 this year that it will gradually shut down the online store services of Nintendo WiiU and 3DS. As of May 23 this year, players will no longer be able to top up their eShop accounts with credit cards on WiiU or 3DS devices.

Today, Nintendo completely shut down the recharge channels for 3DS and WiiU. In this firmware update of WiiU and 3DS, in addition to the regular system stability adjustment, the function of using ehop prepaid cards to recharge these two machines is also turned off . However, players who still want to buy games on the 3DS and WiiU's eShop can choose to top up on the Switch and use the shared balance to make the purchase .

Nintendo previously said that by late March 2023, the Nintendo Wii U and 3DS eShop will no longer support purchasing games, new content and in-app purchases . Nintendo hasn't completely abandoned the Wii U and 3DS, though, and officials say that even after late March 2023, players will still be able to redownload the game and DLC, receive software updates, and play on Wii U and 3DS series systems for the foreseeable future. Enjoy the game.

Nintendo 3DS is a portable game console launched by Nintendo from 2011 to 2020. It is the follow-up model of the Nintendo DS. The biggest feature is the introduction of parallax barrier technology to achieve an effect similar to naked-eye 3D.

WiiU is a home game console launched by Nintendo after the Wii. It is the successor of the Wii. It was first announced on June 7, 2011, and the development code was 'Project Café'. At the same time, the WiiU is the first home game console in Nintendo's history to support a resolution of 1080p. The Wii U sold 14.01 million units in its entire life cycle, making it the worst-selling console product in Nintendo's history.
