　　According to reports, the production cost of Apple's new A16 Bionic processor is about $110, which is more than 2.4 times that of the A15 processor launched last year.

　　The reason why the A16 processor is more expensive to manufacture may be because it uses TSMC's 4-nanometer manufacturing process, while the A15 uses 5-nanometer technology. As the process shrinks in the future, chip costs may rise. There are rumors that the iPhone 15 Pro will use the A17 processor, which will be built with 3nm technology. TSMC may start producing 2nm chips in 2025.

　　Geekbench 5 test data shows that the multi-core performance of the A16 is about 15-17% higher than that of the A15. Apple's iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max are powered by A16 processors, and the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus are powered by A15. Compared with the corresponding mobile phones of the previous generation, the average production cost of the iPhone 14, 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max has increased by about 20%.
