Cisco is reorganizing! Will combine enterprise network and large-scale infrastructure businesses
a Cisco spokesman said the company is merging Enterprise Networking and Cloud (EN&C) and Massive Infrastructure Group (MIG) businesses to "realize the vision of end-to-end networking."
Cisco will name the new division soon, the spokesman said. "The combination of these two organizations allows us to bring technology solutions closer together to better address our customer challenges in transforming infrastructure and aligning our business," he said.
It was previously reported that Todd Nightingale, who was executive vice president and general manager of Cisco's enterprise networking and cloud business, will leave the company and will take up the post of CEO of edge cloud company Fastly on September 1.
As part of the aforementioned "end-to-end" vision, Jonathan Davidson will lead the new combined division.
"We are confident that under Jonathan's leadership, this organization will continue to accelerate innovation for our customers and partners, create new opportunities for our teams, and drive growth for our business," the spokesperson said.
Previously, Jonathan Davidson was executive vice president and general manager of Cisco's Large Scale Infrastructure Group business, where he led Cisco's internal organization that builds innovation in optical networking, hardware, software, and systems. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President and General Manager of Cisco's Service Provider Business and Executive Vice President and General Manager of Juniper Networks.
