according to Reuters, the European Space Agency (ESA) has begun preliminary technical discussions with Elon Musk’s SpaceX after obtaining a Russian rocket that was blocked .

According to the report, the above discussions may lead to the temporary use of SpaceX's launch device by the European Space Agency .

The head of the European Space Agency, Josef Aschbacher, said the negotiations were still at an exploratory stage. "We're looking at the compatibility of this technology, but have not requested a commercial offer yet. We just wanted to be sure that would be an option so a decision can be made when a firm commercial offer is requested."

SpaceX did not respond to a request for comment. Aschbacher stressed that any backup solutions would be temporary , but said he wasn't worried about the future of the Ariane 6 rocket.
