Twitter lawyer: The number of fake accounts Musk got is an 'estimation'
According to reports, the US social media Twitter (Twitter) and Musk have been involved in a legal lawsuit due to the repentance of the acquisition transaction. A few days ago, Twitter lawyers told the presiding judge in Delaware that the fake account and bot account data provided by the company to Musk were "clear and unambiguous estimates."
Musk walked away from a $44 billion takeover of Twitter over fake account data, but has so far provided no specific reasoning behind it.
At a court hearing on Wednesday local time, Twitter lawyer Bradley Wilson said that Musk had previously said that bot accounts and fake accounts had exaggerated Twitter’s user base, and he asked Twitter to provide statistics on these two types of accounts so that he could invite those he invited. Experts can also re-analyze to see if they come up with different numbers for fake and bot accounts.
Wilson said that Musk’s data request will bring about privacy protection issues for Twitter users, and it will require Twitter to analyze countless massive data in the past two years, which is a huge workload.
According to reports, the presiding judge in the case, Kathaleen St. J. McCormick, held the court hearing Wednesday at the request of Musk. Musk made a request to the court that he wanted Twitter to clarify which specific employees were responsible for calculating the proportion of fake and bot accounts.
Earlier, Musk's lawyers said that Musk wanted to find out the proportion of fake accounts and bot accounts, and what proportion of the overall Twitter interaction was made by these accounts, but Twitter's request to Musk was delayed. Ignore it late.
Alex Sprio, Musk's attorney in the case, said that for Musk, the real user size is an important indicator to measure Twitter's business, but Twitter did not provide Musk with the necessary data, "This makes us At a huge disadvantage. We are the acquirer in the transaction.”
