Amazon AWS to build new fulfillment center in Mexico early next year
Amazon's AWS Mexico company will build an operation center in the first quarter of next year to increase bandwidth for customers.
With the new center, Amazon's computing, storage, databases and other services are closer to population and IT centers, and it can increase bandwidth for services such as streaming video. The new center describes its deployment of infrastructure as "local zones," which can support real-time gaming, media and entertainment content production, and engineering simulations.
In the first quarter of 2023, AWS Mexico is preparing to open new offices in Guadalajara and Monterrey, and it will work with local Mexican companies to expand its business.
Totalplay, the telecommunications company owned by Mexico's third-richest man Ricardo Salinas, will provide consulting services for AWS cloud services, and the two parties will join forces to expand their business in the Mexican cloud market. The Mexican cloud market will be worth about $1.4 billion in 2021 and is expected to grow to $2.7 billion by 2025.
Mexico is the fourth largest cloud computing market in the Americas, after the United States, Canada and Brazil.
