Alphabet's Google confirmed that it has approved the social media application Truth Social built by Trump to be listed on the Google Play Store.

The company that runs Truth Social is Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), and according to Google, Truth Social will be available soon.

Truth Social launched on the U.S. App Store in February, but a Google spokesperson said in August that the app wasn't on the Play Store because the content of Truth Social wasn't moderate enough. Google has raised concerns about Truth Social because it may violate the Play Store's non-violence policy, which prohibits the distribution of content that involves physical threats and incites violence.

Without Google and the Apple App Store, it would be difficult for most smartphone users to download Truth Social.

In the United States, the main way for Android phone users to download applications is the Play Store. Of course, if users don't mind the trouble, they can also download apps through the program store that competes with the Play Store, or go to the program's official website to download, but it's just a little more troublesome and less secure. Although the Play Store has not put Truth Social on the shelves before, users can still download and install it through the above methods.

In the US smartphone market, Android phones account for about 40%.

Truth Social has given Trump a new voice. Last year, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube blocked Trump because of the unrest in Congress.
