Intel Solid State Drives Will Be Available Directly by Solidigm Starting October 3rd
according to information on Intel's official website, from October 3rd, 2022, all technical and warranty support for Intel's NAND solid-state drive products will be provided directly by Solidigm.
IT House has reported that in August this year, Solidigm just launched its first consumer-grade NVMe SSD, which is the P41 Plus series with PCIe 4.0 x4 master + QLC flash memory solution. There are rumors that the Solidigm P41 Plus is a spiritual sequel to the Intel 670P.
The Solidigm P41 Plus series is available in M.2 2230 / 2242 / 2280 form factors and 512GB / 1TB / 2TB capacities. Officially claimed that this SSD has a sustained read speed of 4125 MB/s, providing an excellent PCIe 4.0 performance experience at a price that does not exceed the budget of everyday PC users.
Intel's NAND SSD business was acquired by SK Hynix in November 2020. At the end of last year, after SK Hynix completed the first phase of the acquisition of Intel's NAND flash memory and SSD business case, the SSD subsidiary established in the United States was named Solidigm.
It is reported that Solidigm plans to invest more than US$100 million (approximately RMB 701 million) to establish a semiconductor R&D center in California, USA, which covers an area of 230,000 square feet (approximately 21,367 square meters). 1,900 jobs will be created by then.
According to market research firm TrendForce, the NAND Flash revenue of SK Group (SK hynix & Solidigm) reached US$3.61 billion in the second quarter of this year, up 12.1% quarter-on-quarter.
